The present administration in Ogun State intends to establish an all-purpose airport, but will not do this without carrying out necessary feasibility studies and consult widely with relevant aviation agencies. Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Olu Odeyemi who made this clarification this afternoon in Abeokuta while fielding questions from newsmen at the ministerial press briefing said government would take these steps to avoid mistakes of the past.

According to him, no site has been located yet for the project, assuring that government would however do the needful to ensure that project meets international standard.

Also answering a question on the renovated June 12 Cultural Centre, Odeyemi assured that the Centre would be properly maintained to ensure longevity, stating that contrary to insinuation in some quarters, the place was not meant for political functions but to help showcase and promote the rich cultural heritage of the State.

Speaking on the future plans of the Ministry, Odeyemi disclosed that it intends to build a theme park in each of the three senatorial district of the State as a relaxation centre for the people, adding that the parks would in the long run help to improve health condition and create a peaceful ambience for socio-economic growth.

The Commissioner also declared that before the year runs out, the Ministry would complete the abandoned swimming pool at the Ijebu Ode games village

Consultation widely is the best thing they could do in this situation. It makes a lot of sense for them to go ahead with it.
