Our client is a management majority-owned securities firm involved in investment banking, securities trading, asset management and investment research with a focus on West Africa. They now require an Equities Trading Analyst for their Lagos office.

General Job Attributes: Candidates who seek to apply for this position must be self motivating, result oriented, resilient, resourceful and also team players with good interpersonal skills.  The successful candidate will be working as a member of a team involved in maximizing the Companies profits through trading (Equities) in the stock market.

Job Description:

•   Purchase and sells securities on behalf of private clients, institutional clients and proprietary accounts

•   Provide market intelligence to clients and staff

•   Identify, negotiate and execute block trades at targeted market prices for institutional clients

•   Devise strategy to execute trades at prices that are better than the target price

•   Prepare daily valuation report for proprietary account

•   Prepare periodic report on trading and equity market activities

The Person:

•   University Degree with minimum grade of Second Class Upper. A Masters Degree and/or additional finance-related professional qualifications are an added advantage

•   Must be a chartered broker

•   Must be an experienced stock broker

•   SEC Sponsorship will be an advantage

Skills / Competencies:

•   Hands on experience in executing trades

•   Strong relationship with other market participants

•   Excellent knowledge of the Nigerian capital market and in particular the equities market

•   Ability to negotiate block trade

•   Analytical and Numeracy skills

•   Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications especially MsWord, Mintercoursecel and PowerPoint
