Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Legislative Budget and Research, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele, has said he will declare his political ambition after the Independent National Electoral Commission releases its timetable for polls in Ekiti State.

The lawmaker said this while inspecting some of his constituency projects, including an Information and Communications Technology centre and motorised borehole at Iyin Ekiti on Friday.

Governorship election is to hold in the state in 2014 and Bamidele is said to be nursing an ambition to contest the poll.

Bamidele, who represents Ado Ekiti/ Irepodun/Ifelodun at the lower legislative chamber, noted that criticisms from some party members would not deter him from seeking his political intention.

Bamidele said, "I am too intelligent and too politically exposed to get provoked easily by their antics. I expect them to change their tactics. Each time they see me in town, they initiate actions to provoke me.

"I was a commissioner for eight years, a special adviser for three years and now a member of House of Representatives, so I cannot be provoked by their tantrums, blackmails and other games being employed just to derail my political career.

"Whoever has any evidence that I am hobnobbing with the opposition should produce it. I will come out at the right time to tell Ekiti what I am going to contest for and on which political platform."
