 Apparently dissatisfied with the involvement of some of her youths in unwholesome activities, the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Ogun State has reiterated its readiness to engage them in useful and meaningful activities that could prepare them for their roles and duties as leaders of the future.

Commissioner in the Ministry, Mr. Olugbenga Otenuga made this known during a ministerial press briefing sign posting the second year anniversary of the Senator Ibikunle Amosun led administration in the State. According to him, the State Government was committed to building the capacity of the youths who had hitherto been engaged in nefarious activities, pointing out that the resuscitated Principals’ Cup that had just been concluded was one of the steps being taken in this direction.

“My Ministry is fully determined to search for and discover many Falilat Ogunkoyas, Samson Oyeleduns and Muda Lawals, nurture and groom them to national and international stardom“ Otenuga said. He added that the Ministry had also been strengthening and empowering uniformed voluntary youth organizations through payment of annual subventions to help in organizing some of their programmes and mobilize members, urging those who were yet to register with his Ministry to do so immediately.

On Gateway United Football Club, the Commissioner disclosed that the present administration had taken bold steps to reposition the club as it had ensured regular payment of players allowances and dues, hired qualified hands to handle the team, set up an advisory committee and offset the over N4m debt owed players by the past government.
