W/Cup 2014: Ghana ambushes Lesotho in Jo’burg

The Black Stars have pitched camp in South Africa to prepare for Sunday's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Lesotho in Maseru.

The Ghanaians had arrived in Johannesburg on Saturday afternoon, 24 hours after beating Sudan 3-1 at the Al Merreikh Stadium in Omdurman with ten men as captain Asamoah Gyan inspired the side with two goals to equal the record set by Ghana legend, Abedi Pele.

Coach Kwesi Appiah and his 24 players in camp did recovery training hours after touching down in Johannesburg while those who played on Friday were rested from Sunday's light training session.

SuperSport United Edwin Gyimah is yet to report to camp after failing to show up for the qualifier against the Nile Crocodiles.

The team had full-scale training yesterday as preparation continued ahead the departure to Maseru on Thursday.
