Title: Zonal Program Manager

Position Summary:
Each Zonal Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of a proposed Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) Umbrella Grants Mechanism project in one of Nigeria's geopolitical zones.

Specific Duties and Qualifications:
•         Develop and carry out annual work plans.
•         Collaborate with government ministries and civil society organizations in the overall management of the activities.
•         Oversee sub-grants to and project implementation by local partner NGOs and CBOs.
•         Contribute to general capacity-building of NGOs and CBOs, including participation in the development and delivery of training workshops and other capacity building interventions. Serve as a mentor to sub-grantees on an ongoing basis.
•         Collaborate with technical advisors to maximize positive impact of project.
•         Gather data for Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
•         Contribute to regular implementation reports.
•         Other duties as assigned by the Chief of Party or Technical Team Lead.

Qualifications:
•         Creative thinker, energetic team player.
•         Ability to work in partnership with team members (in person, over phone and email), partner agencies and community members.
•         Ability to work independently without in-person oversight for extended periods of time.
•         Demonstrated understanding of the spectrum of OVC services and challenges faced in delivery of services in poor areas.
•         Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
•         Knowledge of USAID rules and regulations.
•         Strong knowledge of National Guidelines on Orphans and Vulnerable Children.
•         Strong computer (word processing) literacy.
•         Fluency in English and at least one other common language of the geopolitical zone.

Education and Experience Requirements:
•         Bachelor's or Master's Degree in field(s) relevant to fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities as described above.
•         At least five years of progressively responsible experience as in health or development program management, with preference for candidates whose experience includes working with NGOs, faith based organizations and civil society.
•         Experience strengthening community-based organizations.
•         Experience in OVC service delivery. Deep experience in social work, nutrition, livelihoods or legal issues a plus.
•         Strong familiarity with geopolitical zone(s).
