Lawmaker Suspended For Involvement In Fetish Activities

A member of the Ondo State House of Assembly representing Ose Local Government, Hon. Fola Olasehinde has been suspended indefinitely by the members of the House for her alleged involvement in fetish activities. The Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon Emiola Dare who presided over the session condemned the action of the Legislator which he said ridiculed and brought embarrassment to the entire House. Hon. Emiola subsequently set up a 4 man Committee to investigate and look into the immediate causes of such barbaric action and submit its report in two weeks' time. The Landlord of Hon. Olasehinde, Mr. Kolawole Ogunbadejo had earlier alleged she was in possession of fetish items. The fetish items include amulets, cow horns, miniature coffins, photo images of humans and animals and has virtually turned the apartment into a shrine. Some personal effects of the female lawmaker, including House of Assembly vehicle plate number, campaign posters and hand bills were also said to have been found in the apartment. But Olasehinde denied any knowledge of the fetish items, saying she had moved all her belongings into a new accommodation at GRA, Alagbaka, Akure, since October, 2012. According to her, she gave the keys to her personal assistant for another co-tenant because the two duplexes share the same water system, adding that she expected the co-tenant to have handed over the keys to the landlord. The landlord had issued Olasehinde a quit notice last year, demanding that she vacated the apartment by October, 2012.
