Our client, News24 requires an experience editor with a passion for news and the digital media, to work on an online news product for the Nigerian market. The position is based in Lagos.

Job Description:

•   Generating and writing of news stories

•   Editing and publishing of content

•   Curating and aggregating content

•   Knowledge of Pidgin English will be an advantage

•   Liaising with users and building a vibrant online community

•   Oversees content offering on all sections

•   Takes responsibility for quality of content and general appearance of these sections Runs social media accounts and UGC section

Requirements:

•   Must have sound general news judgment

•   Must have excellent writing skills and sub-editing

•   Must be versatile and flexible and adaptable to change

•   Must be able to perform under pressure

•   Good understanding of the digital medium

•   Well-organised individual

•   Must be willing to work overtime and on weekends

•   A relevant tertiary qualification is essential

•   Knowledge of the Nigerian market will be a distinct advantage

•   Experience as an online editor will be an advantage
