The cold war between the senator representing Akwa Ibom North-West senatorial district, Senator Aloysius Etok and the state governor, Godswill Akpabio, appears unabated as the two term senator once again said he is sure of victory come 2015, adding that; "nobody can stand on my way."

Answering questions from journalists in Calabar shortly after the inauguration of the South-South zonal office of the National Pensions Commission, PENCON, Senator Etok said he was capable of contending with any other aspirant including the governor, who has indicated interest to run for the seat come 2015.

His words: "I am one of the founding members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Akwa Ibom State. I cannot leave the PDP, leave the PDP for whom? I am sure of another victory as nobody can stand on my way. The people of my senatorial district cannot say I have disappointed them.

They are happy with my performance." Senator Etok, who has challenged his critics to prove him wrong on his claims of performance, has vowed not to cede his re-election ticket to anybody.

It will be recalled that similar boasts by the senator two months ago triggered off attempts by the governor's foot soldiers to begin the process of recalling him from the hallowed chambers until the leadership of the Senate ordered the governor to call his boys to order.
