Ebonyi LG Poll: Opposition Can’t FieldCandidates, Says PDP Stalwart

Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ebonyi State, Chief Ugorji Ama-Oti , Tuesday declared that opposition parties in the state lacked the capacity to field candidates during the forthcoming local government election scheduled for September 28, 2013.

Ama-Oti, who stated this while briefing newsmen on the party's readiness for the forthcoming LG polls, insisted that the only reason that would make opposition parties field candidates for the polls would be to benefit from the state government's financial support during the election.

He called on them to sponsor private member bill at the State House of Assembly, if they felt aggrieved over Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, EBSIEC's decision to use option A4 voting system for the election.

He said: "There is no other party in the state apart from PDP as I speak to you. They can't afford ordinary billboard. They can't.
