Lotus Delaying Elan, Developing Own Engines

Lotus is delaying the launch of its third-generation Elan from the second half of 2013 to an undisclosed date following a recent management review of the program. The new Elan was unveiled last fall at the Paris auto show.

Public opinion suggested the car was too close conceptually to both the bigger Esprit and the existing Evora.
