Job Title: Head, Finance and Accounts

We are looking for an accounting and finance professional to help us manage our growing financial environment. The ideal candidate would have a deep understanding of accounting systems, standards/principles, financial reporting and the preparation of books. This role would oversee all activities related to the group's tax, audit as well as accounting, compliance and other regulatory obligations; have the opportunity of advancing an already existing accounting system with the requisite processes and systems from scratch and hire team members to fill roles as the unit grows. The job is domiciled in Lagos, Nigeria.

Responsibilities:

•   Develop, implement and manage financial strategy initiatives that will drive and sustain the long term viability of the Shareholders;

•   Provide timely and accurate financial information for decision making;

•   Coordinate the Company's budgeting and planning process including establishment of budgeting guidelines and budget consolidation

•   Ensure adequate cost management for improved business margins and performance of the Company;

•   Provide tax advisory services that minimizes tax exposure while ensuring full tax compliance;

•   Ensure effective and efficient internal control that safeguards the Company's assets; and

•   Ensure full adherence to relevant statutory and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications and Compitencies:

•   Minimum of BSc. or Higher National Diploma (HND) in any related discipline

•   Must be a Chartered Accountant (ACA, ACCA)

•   At least six years relevant experience in an accounting department with similar responsibilities, two of which has been in a leadership/ supervisory role

•   In-depth knowledge and understanding of Nigeria's accounting standards, tax laws (PAYE, VAT, WHT etc) is essential

•   Strong analytical, quantitative and problem solving skills.

•   Ability to prepare pivot tables, v-look ups and write macros a big plus

•   Ability to use Quick Books or other accounting software packages is essential.
