Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi and his Osun State counterpart, Rauf Aregbesola, have blamed former Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala for the crisis bedevilling the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso.

Both governors spoke at the weekend at the inauguration of the eighth Governing Council of LAUTECH in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

Ajimobi said the foray of his predecessor, Alao-Akala, into politics was accidental.

He, therefore, urged the former governor to immediately retrace his steps and leave politics for seasoned politicians who understood its rules and precepts.

Ajimobi argued that if Alao-Akala was made a musician's manager, he would be more popular and acceptable to all and sundry.

He said: "Akala likes wearing chains in his hands, buttocks and neck, which means he has the quality of being made a musician's manager. God has destined him to be a musician that will be dancing or instructing others to dance on stage with chains in their hands while entertaining people.

"We have so many people who re-trace their steps and know what life has in stock for them. It will be better for Akala to quit politics now for he is a failure in the field. I know, he wants to re-contest for governorship seat in the state, I am not fighting him not to contest but people of the state should ask him what he did while steering the ship of the state."

In his own remark, Aregbesola said LAUTECH, jointly owned by Oyo and Osun states, was crisis-free until Alao-Akala tried to politicise it.

"He made efforts to cause problem between the two owners of the institution. He was the barbarian who nearly tore things apart in the institution.

"He created bad blood among our people through crisis but we thank God that he has been swept away and will never come back again. We will fight their egos and pure rascality," the governor said.

Speaking on the inauguration of the council, Ajimobi and Aregbesola said that both states would make LAUTECH the pride of the nation.

They said the inauguration was for the progress of the institution and the practical functional transfer of knowledge to people who seeking advancement and reality of life.
