New Everton boss Roberto Maretinez has heaped praises on self-exiled Super Eagles striker Victor Anichebe and his Toffees teammates for the professionalism they showed during the club pre-season friendly with Accrington Stanley.

The Blues ran out comfortable winners in the pre- season meeting at the Store First Stadium, with goals from Darron Gibson, Victor Anichebe, Kevin Mirallas and Leon Osman adding to a bright team performance.

The scoreline gave Martinez his first win as Everton manager, but he insisted at the final whistle, the result was not the priority.
