Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) is the pioneer and leader of the petroleum industry in Nigeria.

Responsibilities: This experienced professional will be supporting asset integrity and project delivery from the front-end through execution and commissioning towards value maximisation. She/He will be responsible for delivering safe,cost/schedule effective and efficient projects; and will be looked up to as important contributors to ongoing projects realization and strategic cost leadership practices within the Deep water Projects organisation. In particular he/she shall:

- Create demonstrable value for customers by understanding their drivers and critical success factors. – Execute with assigned resources technical work for FEED and Detailed Designs (designs,specifications,drawings,etc.) and Operations Support within designated scopes. – Ensure excellence in the quality of technical work and the technical integrity: constructability,functionality,safe operation and reliability of designs. – Contribute to excellent HSE performance throughout the engineering phase of the project life cycle – Deliver continuously improving performance,benchmarked as top tier in the industry. – Contribute to the development of execution contracting strategies that compliment designs,construction and operating methods. – Remain engaged in design issues and decisions throughout construction,commissioning and start-up.

Requirements:

• A Bachelors' degree or similar degree in Engineering – Mechanical, Marine, or related disciplines, in addition to at least 8 – 10 years deepwater work experience

• Working knowledge of a broad range of engineering systems, tools and practices relevant to mechanical (static) engineering – Professional/Chartered engineer qualification preferred.  –  Experience in Maintenance and operations of an upstream facility required  –  At least 8 years experience in commisioning, construction and start up

• Strong technical background with understanding of Engineering processes and drawings

• A strong Commitment to HSSE.

• Should have strong team-working skills.

• Ability to deal with multiple, often conflicting, goals and priorities.

• Ability to work with multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team comprising Co-venturer, government and contractor persons.

• High degree of self motivation with a proven track record in achieving stretching personal and business goals.

• Demonstrate ability to mentor and coach less experienced staff.

• Very good communication skills

• Commitment to making a career in the discipline.
