Gustavo Wants To Stay At Bayern

Brazilian international Luiz Gustavo is not shying away from additional competition within the squad at Bayern Munich, and said on Wednesday he wants to stay with the treble winners and not transfer to Wolfsburg.

"I would like to stay," he said. "I have a contract and would like to fulfill it."

Wolfsburg executive director Klaus Allofs has recently said the club is interested in bringing in the defensive midfielder.

Bayern added another player in Gustavo's position this off-season, with Thiago Alcantara joining Bastian Schweinsteiger and Javier Martinez.

The competition was also intensified by new coach Pep Guardiola switching to a 4-1-4-1 system.

"I have had to fight all these years and will fight on once again this year," said Gustavo, who on Tuesday celebrated his 26th birthday.

Gustavo will definately do well whether there is competition or not...I really believe Bayern Munich still need his services!
