DIMENSIONS OF THE JOB: Egina is a deep offshore development located in block OML130 in Nigeria operated by TOTAL Upstream Nigeria Limited. The development is located 150 km from the coast in 1550 m water depth and includes a spread moored FPSO of 240 POB, associated offloading calm buoy, 2 productions loops connecting six subsea manifold with 21 production wells and 3 injection lines connecting 23 water injection wells. A 20km gas export line ties in to the Akpo export pipeline to Amenam.

Job description: To provide medical treatment to site personnel, ensure a high level of personnel health and hygiene and that medical facilities and equipment are properly maintained and available for use at all times.

ACTIVITIES:

The job holder will be expected to:

•   At first step diagnose and treat ailments and/or injuries affecting personnel on board the FPSO.

•   Arrange and prepare injured or sick personnel for MEDIVAC (EVASAN) as and when necessary.

•   Arrange and conduct first aid basic training for personnel at regular intervals.

•   Provide health education and/or counselling to personnel.

•   Maintain clinic and clinic equipment to ensure that they are clean and in good working condition.

•   Follow up of treatment of personnel on board.

•   Inspect and ensure that all first aid boxes in TEMPSC's, lifeboats are complete and upto date.

•   Ensure that there is an adequate supply of drugs and medical supplies on board the FPSO at all times.

•   Prepare weekly and monthly medical reports indicating no of persons treated, treatment given, drugs/medical supplies in stock, consumption etc.

•   Dispatch expired drugs onshore and follow up their destruction.

•   Inspect and monitor the raw food supply to ensure fitness for consumption.

•   Inspect and monitor the cleanliness, hygiene levels of the kitchen, food storage facilities and catering staff to ensure they meet company standards.

•   Member of the weekly sanitary inspection team of the FPSO catering, accommodation and logistics facilities.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

•   Error in diagnosis or poorly administered treatment could lead to pain, suffering or even loss of life of patient.

•   Bad follow up of medical supplies could lead to shortages which could be critical in case of emergency.

Required skills:

Education: S.R.N or NRN, BSc Nursing, in addition Accident/Emergency Nursing and Orthopaedic Nursing.

Experience: 10 years practical experience in the offshore oil and gas industry.

Skills:

•   Aptitude to work offshore, aptitude to International mobility, experience of cultural diversity.

•   Fluent in English and good understanding of French.
