SON of late Chief MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the June 1993 presidential election, Mr. Abdul Abiola, yesterday, urged the Federal Government to declare June 12 as Nigerian Youth Day.
.
Also, son of late legal luminary and human rights activist, Chief Gani Fawehinmi (SAN), Mr. Mohammed Fawehinmi, and the Chairman, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Lagos, Comrade Ayodele Adewale, enjoined youths to put themselves forward for elective positions in 2015.
.
Abiola made the call at a rally in Lagos organised by the Nigerian Youth Leadership Group, NYLAG, to mark the World International Day of the Youth.
.
Speaking after a walk in Ikeja which terminated at the Governor's Office, Abiola, son of late Mrs. Kudirat Abiola, told newsmen that the youth contributed very much to the electoral success of the late MKO.
.
He said: "Nigeria needs to recognise its youth and give a special day to celebrate them.

The idea makes a lot of sense I must say cos it would fit a celebration for the youths of Nigeria too. I totally agree with this.
