Role overview:

•   The Social Media Officer will serve as a member of the Communications team and will be responsible for ensuring a visible and sustained presence of the V4C brand and core messages on Social Media Platforms.

•   The Social Media Officer will work with the Digital lead under the supervision of the Communications Manager to ensure very regular relevant discourse and dialogue on Social Media.

•   The Social media Officer will ensure close monitoring and supervision of Social Media feeds relevant to V4C messages  

Responsibilities:

•   Implement the V4C Social Media strategy and ensure all activities related to social media are timely and accurately executed

•   Ensure a regularly updated data base of Key and influential Social media Users

•   Periodically assess and review the Social Media strategy to be consistent with prevailing situations

•   Maintain and update V4C Social media accounts such as facebook, twitter, blogs and other platforms

•   Ensure the V4C brand and messages are highlighted and well discussed on social media platforms

•   Develop and moderate regular Hashtag Discussions on Twitter and Facebook

•   Ensure up to date and regular information on all V4C major activities are uploaded on social media platforms

•   Work closely with the Digital lead to ensure consistency of Messages on other web platforms and social media

•   Seek for information and relevant stories to feature on V4C operated social media accounts

•   Work with the Communications Manager and Result Monitoring Adviser to track and monitor Social media feeds

•   Track , analyse and interpret Social media comments to inform program decisions

•   Build the Capacity of V4C staff on active Social media utilization

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

•   In depth knowledge and experience of Social Media

•   Ability to effectively mobilize social media users

•   Ability to effectively moderate discussions on Social Media

•   Demonstrated utilization of vast social media platforms

•   Demonstrable contacts and network of large populations on social media

•   Experience in understanding the dynamics of social media; user patterns, interests and trends

•   Experience in Marketing Communications approaches especially for Social change

•   Experience in analyzing target population attitudes and behaviours

•   An understanding of the social and political context of Nigeria

•   Excellent analytical skills

•   Excellent writing and facilitation skills

•   Good report writing skills in English

•   Strong IT capabilities

•   A degree in Arts or Social Sciences

•   Minimum of 4 years Experience working in an issue based organization
