Benin ended their Group H 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign on a highas they defeated Rwanda 2-0 in Porto Novo on Sunday.

The victory for the 'Squirrels' ensured they avoided finishing bottom of the pool, and could even end up in second place if Algeria defeat Mali convincingly on Tuesday.

The two teams came into the game with nothing but pride to play for, as Algeria had already secured top spot in the group.

Nonetheless, Benin put themselves ahead ten minutes before the break through Mickael Pote, while a strike from Bello Babatunde early in the second half extended their advantage.

Rwanda finished bottom of the pool with just two points from six matches, while Benin collected eight points.

Group H will be wrapped up on Tuesday evening when Algeria host Mali in Blida.
