AVB Calls Chiriches Agent To Order

Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas- Boas has rebuked a representative of defender Vlad Chiriches for suggesting that his client has only joined the club with a view to signing for Chelsea.

Chiriches, a 23-year-old Romania international, joined Spurs from Steaua Bucharest in August in a move reportedly worth £8.5 million and has impressed on his two appearances to date.

However, his international agent, Victor Becali, has claimed that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has been tracking Chiriches since his time as coach of Real Madrid and will look to bring him to Stamford Bridge if he settles in England.

Becali's remarks drew a spiky response from Villas- Boas, who said: "Obviously the comments are completely disproportionate and out of reality.
