Sokoto State University wishes to engage suitably qualified applicants to fill various positions in the following Senior Administrative Departments.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS FOR SENIOR ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS

a. Health Sector

i) Director of Hospital Services

Applicants must possess a Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery degree or its equivalent from a recognized University with fifteen years Post Basic Qualification experience. S/he must possess the Fellowship of the Nigerian Postgraduate Medical College or its equivalent and an up to date Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria. A Postgraduate qualification in Public Health will be an Advantage.

ii) Pharmacist

Applicants must hold a good B. Pham degree from a recognized University and must be Registrable with the Pharmacists Registration Council of Nigeria, Plus one year post-Registration Cognate experience.

iii) Medical Officer

Applicants must hold a degree in MBBS with a minimum of 2 years experience in Medical Practice at a recognized institution. S/he must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

iv) Nursing Officer

Applicants must hold a good Bachelors degree in Nursing Science from a recognized University and must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria

v) Nursing Superintendent

Applicants must hold the NRN Qualification from a recognized Nursing School within the Country and duly registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. A post Basic Qualification in Midwifery will be an added advantage.

vi) Laboratory Scientist

Applicants must hold a good Bachelors of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) and must be registered or registrable with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.

b. Registry

i) Deputy Registrar

Applicants must hold Masters Degree and a good Bachelors degree in relevant fields with at least 15 years post-qualification cognate experience and evidence of membership of a registered professional body.

ii) Principal Assistant Registrar

Applicants must hold Matters and a good Bachelor Degree and possess at least 12 years post-qualification cognate experience and evidence of membership of a registered professional body.

iii) Senior Assistant Registrar

Applicants must hold a Master's degree plus at least six (6) years post qualification cognate experience or a first degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower plus nine (9) years post qualification cognate experience and evidence of membership of a registered professional body.

iv) Confidential Secretaries/Personal Assistants

Applicants for these positions must possess a minimum of Bachelor's degree/HND or equivalent in relevant field and at least two years of cognate experience.

S/he must have a good knowledge of MS Office tools, Secretarial duties and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be able to maintain a good officeand work environment and improve office systems.

vi Counseling Psychologist – Guidance And Counseling

Applicants must have a Masters Degree and a good Bachelor's Degree in Guidance and Counselling. S/he must be over 30 years of age and must have served satisfactory as a Counselor in a School setting for at least 3 years. She must also be of good conduct.

vi) Coach

Applicants must hold a good degree in Physical Health Education obtained from a recognized University. In addition, to having a minimum of 6 years cognate experience in a Coaching Career.

c. Chief Security Co-Ordinator

Applicants must possess a Masters degree and a good Bachelor in the area of Law, English Language, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration, and Political Science and must have worked in a military, Police, SSS or paramilitary outfit. S/he must possess good leadership qualities and must be physically and mentally fit without any disability. Possession of a Master's Degree will be an added advantage

d. ICT

i) Director ICT

Applicants must hold a good Bachelor's Degree and a Masters degree with at least 15 years cognate experience or a PhD with at least 12 years cognate experience. Applicants must also be a member of a registered professional body.

ii) Web Developer

Applicants must possess a First Degree; Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualifications in related discipline. Applicants with OND and at least three (3) years cognate experience may be considered.

iii) System Hardware Specialist

Applicants must possess a First Degree; Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualifications in related discipline plus 5 O' level credits (WASC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB) including English Language and Mathematics.

iv). Computer Operators

Applicants must possess a professional Diploma in Data Processing or Diploma in Secretarial Studies with professional training in Data Processing with a Typing speed of 50w.p.m. plus 5 O' level credits (WASC/NECO/GCE/NABTEB) including English Language and Mathematics

a. Works

i) Principal Electrical Engineer

Applicant must possess a First Degree with nine (9) years post qualification cognate experience or a Masters Degree with six (6) years post qualification cognate experience.

ii) Senior Estate Officer

Applicant must possess a good First Degree/ HND in Estate Surveying or any of the following qualifications: (1) A pass in the first Examination of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. (2) A pass in the First Examination of the Nigerian Institute of Estate Surveyors and Valuers. (3) Ordinary National Diploma in Estate Management from a recognized Institution.

iii) Senior Technical Officer – Mechanical

Applicants must possess any of the following qualifications: (ii a good HND in relevant discipline with minimum of three years post qualification experience; OR (ii) a good HND with M.Tech. in same discipline; OR (iii) OND plus a minimum of six years post qualification experience.

f. Bursary

i) Senior Internal Auditor

Applicants must hold a good Bachelor degree in Accounting or any related field and also be a member of Professional bodies (ICAN, ANAN, ACCA etc) with a minimum of six (6) years working experience.

ii) Internal Auditor & Accountants

Applicants must hold a good Bachelor degree in Accounting or any related field. Membership of professional bodies is an added advantage, with NYSC Discharge certificate.

SALARY AND CONDITION OF SERVICE: The salaries and conditions of service are as applicable to the post appointed for in Nigerian Universities as approved by Sokoto State Government and the Governing Council of the University from time to time.
