 Ogun State Government has made a considerable success in the execution of all “Ogun standard road” projects across the State with high regards to transparency and prudence in the management of funds.     The State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite stated this today in Abeokuta while addressing members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Works and Infrastructure during their budget performance monitoring visit to the Ministry.     Adegbite who noted that some of the projects would take three years to complete, explained that the execution process for the contract was being monitored with in-house check by competent professionals in the Ministry to save time, ensure quality and promote prudent management of resources.     He clarified that compensation to individuals and corporate bodies whose property were affected by the road construction were being paid by the Bureau of Lands and Survey after proper estimation and evaluation had been carried out.     The Commissioner assured that henceforth, compensation would be paid to owners whose property are to be affected by the road construction before such structure is demolished, adding that the Sapon-Itoku-Totoro road is now being reconstructed into 10 lanes.     Also speaking, Project Manager of the Ogun State Road Management Agency (OGROMA), Engr. Ademola Adelana said the agency had embarked on rehabilitation of some township roads including Akute-Oke Aro road, Ijoko– Itoki road, Ikenne township roads, Oluga in Odeda, Saapade–Sagamu-Benin Express junction, Itori Odo- Iberekodo and Enugada–Adatan roads amongst others.     In his remarks, the Committee Chairman, Hon. Joseph Adegbesan said the budget performance monitoring visit was meant to assess the project performance for the year to ensure efficient service delivery, saying that the Committee was committed towards promoting good governance and provision of quality service to the people.
