Senate President to unveil National Youth Games logo, mascot on Thursday

As the first-ever Nestle-Milo National Youth Games draws near, Nigeria's Senate President, David Mark has scheduled to unveil its official Logo and Mascot on Thursday 24th  October, 2013 at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja from 6.00 pm.

Expected to grace the event are members of the National Assembly; members of the Diplomatic Corps, Sports Commissioners, Private Sector Operator; State Directors of Sports and Technical Directors of the 14 sporting events that will feature at the games. Being the first of its kind, the Nestle-Milo National Youth Games is a platform designed by the National Sports Commission to encourage youth participation in sports.

The inaugural games have been scheduled to hold from the 5th to 15th of December, 2013 in Abuja and will feature fourteen sporting activities, comprising: Boxing, Badminton, Handball, Squash, Taekwondo, Track and Field, Weightlifting, Basketball, Football, Para-Power lifting, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball and Wrestling. Contestants and other participants to feature at the games are expected from the thirty six states of the federation, including Abuja who are under the age of seventeen years.  .

In the interim, on-line registration for the games has been going on and 'Usernames' as well as 'Personal Identification Numbers' have been sent to all the Directors of Sports through their e-mail addresses and SMS to facilitate the process.

The National Sports Commission has also warned that all entries must be uploaded on or before 28th October, 2013 as registration would not be extended beyond the date.
