Job Title: Grant Compliance Manager

Location(s): Abuja, Nigeria

Responsibilities:

•   The Grant Compliance Manager will have responsibilities for ensuring donor grant reporting and compliance regulations are met by all partners.

•   Grant Compliance – Serve as principal point of contact on compliance issues with partners; implement approved capacity building trainings at the sites; improve field/local partner staff capacity to comply with regulations.

•   Budgeting – Train local partners on budgeting; Provide senior level technical support to the local partners to finalize their annual budgets, conduct a review of budgets against project targets, budget notes and justification, make recommendations and follow-up implementation; Review draft partner budgets and provide technical advice to program managers.

•   Financial Support – Provide direct technical support in all aspects of finance to partners, monitor allocated partner agreements and budgets and ensure compliance with Compliance Manuals and donor guidelines, advice on GAAP and basic accounting records to be maintained by the partners.

•   Internal Control Assessments and Site Visits – Participate in Internal Control and Monitoring/pre-award assessments as required, review of adequacy of internal controls, compliance with applicable laws and regulations, compliance with local partner policies and procedures.

•   Financial accounting – Ensure that partners keep supporting documents for all financial transactions, keep ledgers for Fixed Assets, Purchase Requisitions, Cash Receiptsand Disbursements, Maintain a project budget holder's register that will show the entire fund advanced to each budget holders, the liquidation patterns and the balances at any particular time.

Requirements:

•   B.Sc. Accounting or Finance, ICAN/ACCA Certification

•   Willingness to travel widely across partner locations

•   At least 5 years post NYSC grants management experience in an international NGO

•   Proficiency in the use of accounting software e.g. Quickbooks, Tally, Peachtree etc., and the use of MS suite
