Kwara State Government has approved to host this year's National School Sports Festival in Ilorin, between Nov. 20-30.

The Secretary General of the Nigeria School Sports Federation (NSSF), Mrs Olabisi Joseph revealed this in a telephone interview with Saturday Mirror yesterday.

She said the development is a good one following the recent exploits of Nigerian youths at the just concluded U-17 FIFA World Cup in United Arab Emirates (UAE). "We are delighted following the approval of the Kwara State Government to host our boys and girls in schools at the upcoming National School Sports Festival.

This is what we expect from government and corporate bodies to do in order to help our youths rediscover themselves through participation in sports. "Our boys and girls in schools have been looking forward to this kind of assistance from government and the private sector and we are happy that it is happening in our time.

"NSSF wants to use this opportunity to thank the Minister of Sports, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, Kwara State Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Sports and the good people of Kwara State for showing great commitment in the actualisation of this vision," she said.

Joseph also commended Nestle Milo for their support in bankrolling the U-12 Boys' soccer event and Sterling Bank for their 35million Naira lifeline for the organisation of this year's National School Sports Festival which is in its 6th edition.
