  • You stole my song –Don Jazzy
  • Why are you jealous of me? –Wande Coal
The mystery over the status of the relationship between Don Jazzy and Wande Coal was finally put to rest during the week when the two music sector practitioners threw caution to the winds and attacked each other, literally tearing themselves to shreds in the process.

Prior to their public spat which erupted on Tuesday, it was suspected that Coal had quit his business relationship with Jazzy. Nobody was sure if he really had however as there was no official word from either him or Jazzy to confirm it.

But like they say, truth will out, and the truth has come out that he is no longer on Jazzy's label, Mavin Records, which he opted to pitch his tent with, as against D'Banj's DB Records, after the breakup of their former label, Mo' Hits.

While his unexpected exit didn't seem to be a problem to Jazzy, his release of a song, Babyface, that Jazzy claims to be his, really drew the ire of the Mavin boss who tweeted immediately he heard of the song's release that it was his. Caught unawares by Jazzy's move, Coal tried to save his face by querying why Jazzy was jealous of him after he had served him faithfully for years.

Their song ownership tussle is the second of such that has really made the news this year. The other was that of Sound Sultan and Sean Tizzle which also happened in exactly the same circumstances of Jazzy and Coal's.

Then, Tizzle was signed on to Sultan's Naija Ninjas so Sultan gave him five songs to record. Suddenly, Tizzle walked out of his contract and recorded one of the songs with another label. When the song, Sho Le, became a monster hit, Sultan exposed him and they settled it amicably before it became a legal issue.
