Cross River State - University Don Congratulates Imoke at 52

The State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke has made Cross River State to become a real metaphor for sustainable development. These were the words of Dr. Okpo Ojah a Media Consultant, at a media briefing in Calabar.

In his birthday message to the Governor, Dr Ojah portrayed the Governor as an iconic figure not only in Cross River State, but in Nigeria as a whole and Africa at large.

The University Don enumerated few of Imoke's achievements to include transformation of the Civil Service, maintenance of Cross River State rank, through education, as one of the best in helping Nigeria to attain Millennium Development Goals, road development, rehabilitation and maintenance system.

According to him, the list of Imoke's achievements, he said also included the establishment of Cross River State Agriculture Resources Empowerment Scheme (CARES), tourism development, substantial economic growth, Tinapa Knowledge City and health care services.

He pointed out that, the Governor was very unique in the sense that, he operates by the principle of commonwealth, which allows allocation to be properly distributed in order to touch the lives of the people in rural areas.

The Media Consultant stressed that, apart from peaceful disposition of the Governor, he is also humble, principled, brilliant, intelligent, committed, original, creative, unassuming and a detribalized Nigerian, qualities that have made him to tower above others.

Dr Ojah also maintained that, it is not out of place if Governor Imoke is compared with the likes of selfless, committed and ingenious leaders and world-class Presidents as Thomas Jefferson and John Kennedy of the United States of America, Winston Churchill of Great Britain and Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Africa, adding that, the Governor Imoke deserved all the eulogies, all the accolades to catapult his phenomenal performance in years ahead for Cross River State and other Nigerians.
