Former Super Eagles midfielder, Friday Ekpo, believes that Fenerbahce centre half, Joseph Yobo, remains relevant to the team.

Yobo has not played for the three times African Champions since helping them win the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in February but team handler, Stephen Keshi has come out to say he is still relevant in the Eagles set-up.

Ekpo, said as famr as the former Olympique Marseille and Everton defender still plays active football he should be considered for selection as his experience would be vital to the team in Brazil.

"Joseph Yobo still remains relevant in the Super Eagles team but the Coach Stephen Keshi knows better on why he has not extended his selection to him. He begins.

"As far as a player still plays in one of the topflight clubs in Europe and plays every week he should be considered good enough to play for the Super Eagles knowing fully well that his experience would prove vital in some matches.

Yobo is Nigeria's most capped footballer ever as he has made 95 appearances for the national team since marking his debut in 2011. It has been whispered in certain quarters of the media that Keshi is jealous of Yobo's achievements and will try to stop the defender from reaching a milestone of 100 caps.
