It is pathetic the way lives are being lost in Nigeria, almost on a dialy basis, to road accidents.

Lives are lost at popular roads like, Lagos-lbadan express way, Lagos-Benin road, Lagos-ore road, to mention but a few.

l don't believe that almost all the road accidents were due to drivers recklessness, as claimed by almost all the Federal Road Safety Corps Commanders.

Are the roads in good shape?

In Ibadan, Oyo state, 18 people have died after a commercial bus fell off a bridge at Soka Bus Stop, Oluyole Local Government area of the city.

Among those who lost their lives in the unfortunate accident were two children whose ages ranged between three and five. Three people survived the accident.

The commercial bus with plate number JIGAWA XB 633 DUT took off from Kano State and was heading to Lagos. The accident occurred at Ibadan.

According to an eye witness, the accident happened around 7.00 am along Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Oyo state Federal Road Safety Corps Commander, Mr. Godwin Ogagaoghene confirmed the accident, saying reckless driving must have been responsible for the accident.
