Nigeria defender Elderson Echiejile has said he cannot wait for next years World Cup in Brazil to get underway.

The Sporting Braga defender was one of the regulars as the Super Eagles qualified for a fifth World Cup.

Brazil 2014 will be his second World Cup having played against Greece and South Korea at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Elderson said on his official website www.elderson3.com he cannot wait for the big kick- off in June.

I am looking forward to the World Cup as many of my teammates are also looking forward to it, he said.

It was a great experience to play at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and it will be even more fulfilling to return to the tournament in Brazil, where we played the Confederations Cup.

He said further: The Africa Cup of Nations and the Confederations Cup are all major competitions, but the World Cup is different, its in a class of its own.

Nigeria failed to go past the group stage three years ago, but the reliable left back said he expects a much improved showing in Brazil next year.

We hope to do a lot better in Brazil because we already have a settled team and I believe we will prepare very well for the tournament, he said. The draw for the World Cup will be staged in Bahia, Brazil, on December 6.
