Kidnapped Bayelsa Commissioner’s Father Regain Freedom

The kidnapped father of Bayelsa State Commissioner for Tourism Development, Pa Nelson Tempurah has been released after two weeks in captivity.

The septuagenarian was seized and taken away from his Minibeleu country home at Akassa on the Atlantic fringe on November 20 by unknown gunmen.

It was learnt he was released Thursday night along the Nembe creek in the Bayelsa East Senatorial district.

Though it could not be ascertained if any ransom was paid before he was set free, his abductors it was be recalled had demanded N98m ransom which was later reduce to N50m.

Contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Alex Akhigbe confirmed the release of the commissioner's father.

Being kidnapped is something terrible so being free is something encouraging and wonderful.

We just hope for a day when we will hear of Kidnapping no more in this country. It is bad for Nigeria's image

Bayelsa will just have to increase their security there because this is becoming too much. Something has to be done
