Okonkwo Urges Christians To Pray Ceaselessly For Nigeria

The Presiding Bishop of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Dr Mike Okonkwo, has urged Christians not to relent in prayers for the country.

Okonkwo made the call on Saturday at an event called "The Experience 8" held at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Onikan, Lagos.

He said Christians should pray against the various forces inhibiting the growth and development of the country.
.
He added that "God is up to something in this country but the fact that a large portion of the country remains impoverished means there are forces trying to truncate God's plans for Nigeria.

"Our numerous natural resources are enough for us all to live happily but it is sad that this has not happened yet."

Okonkwo, however, urged Nigerians to have faith and pray ceaselessly "so that God's plans for the country will come to pass."

"The Experience 8" is an annual musical concert involving the biggest local and international gospel artistes, organised by Pastor Paul Adefarasin of the House On The Rock church (HOTR).

Adefarasin had earlier described the concert as a major platform for unifying Nigerians.

He said: "The Experience 8" is an opportunity for Nigerians to put aside all differences such as tribe, class, denomination and creed.
