Bassong Signs New Norwich Contract

Norwich captain Sebastien Bassong signed a two-and-a-half-year contract extension with the Premier League club on Thursday.

Bassong was voted player of the year by Norwich fans last season and has now been rewarded with a new deal.

The 27-year-old Cameroon defender arrived atCarrow Road in August 2012 from Tottenham and has made 47 appearances and scored three goals for the Canaries.

"I'm really pleased. It is something I have been looking forward to doing, as, being team captain, I think it is something really important to commit myself even more to the club," Bassong told Norwich's website.

Bassong recently returned to the starting line-up having struggled for fitness following knee surgery and has set his sights on getting back to his best.
