Job Title: Commis Chef

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

Employer: InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG Nigeria)

Key responsibilities of the role include:

•   As a Commis Chef, you work under the direction of the Sous Chef to prepare food, carry out inventory functions, to ensure hotel quality standards and revenue goals are met and food and supply costs are controlled in accordance with InterContinental Hotels and resorts policies and procedures.

•   You maintain very high standard hygiene practices and follow brand standard food specifications with a high level of performance, presentation, service delivery and ensure minimum food wastage in the kitchen.

QUALIFICATIONS:

•   Diploma or certificate in Culinary Arts

•   Three years experience in kitchen operation.

•   Good understanding of the Hotel Industry standards, policies and procedures

•   Strong communication skills in English (verbal, listening, writing)

•   Eager to learn & progress, responsible with the willingness to take ownership

•   Creative, open and service minded

•   Business savvy and good people skills
