Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has hinted at the possibility of January activity at the Etihad following the disappointing 1-1 draw away at Blackburn in the FA Cup.
.
Despite taking the lead, City were held by a spirited Rovers side as they added yet another match to an ever-growing fixture build-up.
.
The Chilean said: "It doesn't mean that we cannot do, maybe some things from now until the end of January but, for now, nothing important."
.
Pellegrini already has arguably the best squad in the Premier League which leaves him well suited to mounting challenges on all four fronts this season.
.
With the draw at Ewood, City ensured they would be in tomorrow's fourth round draw, they have a Capital One Cup semi-final with West Ham in midweek and they also look well prepared for assaults on the Premier League and Champions League.
.
Despite their array of riches, they couldn't get past a Blackburn side who may feel aggrieved that they didn't take more advantage of Dedryck Boyata's late red card, and Pellegrini was full of praise for the hosts after the match.
.
He said: "I think it was a very close game. It's a difficulty that they play here with a lot of intensity at home.
.
"I'm absolutely sure that if they play the same way in the Championship they will possibly be in the best position."
.
The draw shelves City's plans for a money-spinning friendly in the UAE on January 14th, with a replay against Rovers scheduled for that week.

I don't just understand what went wrong with them before. I'm beginning to feel this Manchester City team isn't as good as they are painted
