TASUED Support 50 Senior Administrative Officers Financially To Ghana On Human Capacity And Leadersh

Fifty senior Administrative, Accounting and Technical staff of the Tai Solarin University of Education Ijagun, Ogun State recently attended a four-day workshop on human capacity and leaderships building at the University of Ghana.

The brain-storming workshop organised by the TASUED Management in conjunction with the Institute of Continuing and Distance Learning,
.
University of Ghana with the theme "Optimizing Capacity Utilization in an African University in the 21 Century".
.
The four-day workshop covered the following topics: Key issues in the Higher Education Sector and Role of University Administrators; Developing a Corporate Identity in a Competitive Environment; Engendering the Work Environment; Resources Management, ICT, Communication Management; Building External Linkages and Partnership and Improving Administrative and Management Skills.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Oluyemisi Obilade noted that the leadership workshop is aimed at enhancing the knowledge of the senior officers in the performance of their roles in challenges facing Higher Education Administration in the 21 century. The Vice Chancellor said the Management will continue to ensure continuous training of staff in the University.

The Director, Institute of Continuing and Distance Education, University of Ghana Prof. Yaw Oheneba Sakyi while speaking on key issues in Higher Education and the Role of University Administrators, enjoined Administrators to be team builders, creative agents of change and positive role models as some of the qualities to possess. He further charged them to be versatile with the use of ICT.

Speaking on 'Developing a Corporate Identity in a Competitive World', Dr. Michael Tagoe urged participants to guard jealously the corporate identity of the University as it enables the formation of a strong corporate brand that brings about stakeholders' loyalty and in turn attracts funding.

The active involvement of the Alumni should also not be relegated as they serve as brand proponents which in turn showcase TASUED to the world. This was the submission of the Executive Chairman, RICS Consults Limited, Ghana, Mr. Magnus Rex Danquah calling for the Building of External Linkages and partnership.

In the same vein, MS Adwoa Bame called for full and genuine access to position, including leadership roles for women and men as one of the steps in engendering the work environment.
