THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has performed creditably under the leadership of Dr. Bello Mohammed, according to a media aide, Emeka Nwankpa.

He said Mohammed, who assumed the chair of the party in acting capacity in January, fared better compared to other leaderships of the party, although he admitted there was still "a big task ahead."

He said "it is worthy to note that he Mohammed) rallied the party together to ensure that the members speak with one language, made the party manifesto sacrosanct and ensure its implementation to the letter, which has helped improved public perception of the PDP."

"His choice as chairman of the PDP was welcomed and accepted by party members, which is an attestation of his statesmanship and quality leadership skills," he added.

Nwankpa listed Mohammed's achievements to include "a resounding victory and success at the April 2011 polls both at the national and state levels, winning majority seats at the National Assembly, the Presidency and 26 states out of the 36 states of the federation convincingly and without controversies."

Also, the party has been positioned for greater heights for the future, he said, noting that as a good party leader, Mohammed has ensured true reconciliation in the party, necessitating internal democracy.

"The party also became more stable, peaceful and forward-looking. He ensured that there were no cases of arbitrary withdrawal of tickets from popular candidates during the primaries," he said.
