Nigerian Student Commit Suicide In New York

A Nigerian student, Omotayo Adeoye, in New York, United States, has committed suicide after she was openly scolded by her teacher for cheating in an examination.

Adeoye was a student of High School of Math, Science and Engineering in Manhattan.

She decided to jump into a river than face humiliation of exam malpractice in the school.

Her friends described her as a very brilliant schoolgirl and the news of her death had since thrown her entire family into mourning Adeoye left behind a stunning but short suicide not before committing the act. "I just want to go away forever on the bottom of the river," the note read.

The New York Police Department confirmed the incident and said the body of the girl was found floating on water after nearly a one-week manhunt in different parts of the city.
