Nasarawa State Scholarship Board To Start Electronic Payment

The Nasarawa State Scholarship Board (NSSB) has introduced an electronic payment system for beneficiaries of the state's bursary and scholarship awards.

The Executive Secretary of NSSB, Abdulwahab Sulaiman, said that the e-bursary payment system will see the students issued with a credit cards to access their funds at ATM machines.

This new system, he said will ensure the judicious and accountable utilization of bursary funds.

The beneficiaries of the bursary scholarship awards are expected to pay a fee of N1,000 each for the credit card which will be used for the withdrawal.

Sulaiman revealed that the governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura has decided to pay the money for them.

The governor had instructed that the board to introduce the e-payment system to help foster transparency and accountability.
