College of Health Tech. Kaduna Closed Over Fire Incident

Technology, Makarfi in Kaduna State has been closed following a fire outbreak in the female hostel of the school.

Provost of the college, Mr Musa Garba-Abdullahi, who made the announcement, said that the fire destroyed 25 rooms in the "female hostel block B" on Friday evening, which about 200 students without accommodation.

Though there was no loss of life, the management decided to close the institution leading to the suspension of the ongoing examinations.
The provost however appealed to parents not to panic as all necessary measures had been put in place to ensure safety of all students.

He said that a committee, comprising the Police, State Security Service and college staff had been set up to ascertain the cause and extent of damage from the fire.

Garba-Abdullahi added that the ongoing examinations at Tudun-Wada Kaduna and Pambeguwa campuses would continue as scheduled.
