A Chemical Company is currently seeking a leader to manage it's SH &E programs for the Nigeria Operations.

Position: SH & E MANAGER – NIGERIA

Position Objective: Based in Port Harcourt
•   The ideal candidate will provide local SH&E support to the Company's Supply Chain as well as Sales and Services management.
•   The SH&E Manager will be responsible for planning and managing implementation of global and local SH&E programs.
•   This position will also be responsible for the development of local procedures, training, initiatives and communications that support and align with global SH&E guidance.
•   The successful candidate will report the District Managing Director and Global SH&E Manager.

Qualification & Experience:
•   Minimum of first degree with Second Class Upper Division in Science or Engineering discipline.
•   Minimum of five (5) year relevant Industry experience SH &E Coordinator or Manager.
•   Knowledge, skills and experienced in the practice of SH&E including management system implementation, communication, observation and oral/written skills critical to the satisfactory performance of audits, inspections, investigations, policy/procedures development and presentation of findings and performance.
•   Certified Safety professional or equivalent qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities:
•   Perform risk and impact assessments, SH&E inspections and audits of supply chain and sales and service locations.
•   Understand and implement Company's SH&E Management System, SH&E core principles and ensure alignment with customer policies and principles.
•   Conduct or coordinate internal and external legal-, business-and client-required SH&E training courses for employees and subcontractors.
•   Implement behavior-based safety program that include near miss incident reporting, behavioral and job safety analysis systems.
•   Coordinate with management on the planning and conducting of monthly safely meeting and communication of SH&E alerts, newsletters and goal performance updates.
•   Assist management in the development of local SH&E policies, programs and procedures that support and align with Company's global SH&E management System.
•   Prepare local SH& E statistics and update managers, employees and clients on incident trends and progress in achieving established goals and objectives.
