PURPOSE: – To determine profitability of all existing and proposed revenue generating assets at all points in time and track costs of various process and departmental activities thereby informing financial decision making. He/She will oversee the application of cost accounting policies and procedures analyse variances and capitalization of variances to ensure complete application across the business.

JOB SPECIFICATION:

Knowledge & Experience; – A university degree and or MSC in Accounting, Economics or related field. – Relevant professional certification i.e.: ICAN, ACCA, ACA – At least 3 years' experience at executive level plus minimum of 5 years' experience as a Finance manager. – At least 5 years' experience in managing a reputable financial function, and conversant with IFRS reporting system and standards. – Previous experience in Advertising field would be advantageous – Excellent organisational skills – Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – Ability to embrace new initiative in a practical way to manage change effectively – ICT management savvy

KEY RESULT AREAS; – Eliminate non- profit centres: cost reduction on non- profitable business expenses to the barest minimum – Existence of updated and comprehensive range of financial diagnostic tools. – Assist in building and ensuring international operational accounting standards for the department – Quantify and provide commentary on purchase price variance, scrap, rework, and overhead spending – Proactive analysis of variances and reporting, communication of issues and opportunities to management – Optimization of financial resources by aggressively reducing costs (i.e. opex and capex) and achieving optimal benefits and improved profitability. – Provide cost accounting support and advise on business development, strategic planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory interactions.
