Nasarawa Spent N792m On 36 Modern Primary Schools

The chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Mallam Abdulkarim Mohammed, has stated that the state government spent N792 million to construct 36 modern primary schools across the state from January 2011 to date.

Mohammed told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lafia that the state government also earmarked N1.1billion for the provision of furniture in schools across the state.

The chairman said Governor Tanko Al-Makura's APC-led administration is extremely committed to improving the education sector because it is the bedrock of the development of any society.

He said, "Al-Makura has vowed to take education to the doorsteps of all and sundry in the state."

The chairman also disclosed that the Federal Government/Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) had funded the fencing of some schools.
