Finally, Adeola-Akande emerges House Leader

The crisis rocking the House of Representatives over who becomes its leader was finally laid to rest on Tuesday, following the endorsement of Honourable Mulikat Akan-de-Adeola of Oyo State by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) caucus in the House, after several deadlocked meetings.

Nigerian Tribune exclusively learnt that the new House leader would be officially presented to the members in the House today by the speaker, Ho-nourable Aminu Tambu-wal, barring any last minute change.

Honourable Adeola-Akande, according to a reliable source in the National Assembly, was sighted at the office of the speaker on Tuesday afternoon, shortly after the plenary session, where she reportedly held final consultations with Honourable Tambuwal.

It was learnt that the meeting was like a family affair, as she was said to be smiling as she emerged from the speaker's office.

A source in the office of the speaker, who pleaded anonymity, confirmed the impromptu meeting with the speaker, saying that "the storm over the choice of House Leader is over now, they have finally settled for the woman. I think the honourable speaker will unveil her tomorrow (today)."
