Tottenham Sign Scott Parker From West Ham

Tottenham have completed the signing of Scott Parker from West Ham.

The England midfielder yesterday handed in a formal transfer request, and the deal, believed to be worth £6million, was completed this afternoon.

A statement on Tottenham's official club website, www.spurs.co.uk, read: "We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with West Ham United for the permanent transfer of Scott Parker."

Parker, 30, had been a long-term target for Spurs manager Harry Redknapp, the former Charlton youngster having been voted Footballer of the Year for his efforts to keep West Ham up last season.
