Job Title: Chief Accounts Officer

Duties:
•   Preparation of annual financial statements and any other periodic financial and management reports as may be required.
•   Preparation of periodic bank reconciliation statements.
•   Proactively identifying and implementing process improvements and operational efficiencies.
•   Developing and maintaining good relations with banks, tax authorities and other parties with whom the university has to relate.
•   Keeping proper records of all financial transactions.
•   Managing the payroll.
•   Managing the short-term and long-term financial and non-financial assets of the university.
•   Receiving and recording student's fees and other payments made to the university.
•   Identifying and implementing processes that would ensure minimal indebtedness to the university.
•   Ensuring the smooth running of the computerized accounting system.
•   Establishing job standards for subordinate staff and effectively evaluating their performance.
•   Preparing, analyzing and monitoring the university's budget.
•   Preparing status reports to aid effective budgetary control.
•   Ensuring that all financial policies, procedures and guidelines.
•   Advise the university on all financial matters.

Skills Required:
•   Ability to use a personal computer to prepare correspondence, reports, charts, etc.
•   Ability to use accounting and other relevant software's.
•   Ability to generate detailed, well-illustrated reports and proposals and make good presentations.
•   Ability to suggest new policies and procedures and to administer established ones.
•   Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•   Excellent interpersonal skills.
•   Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational and decision making skills.
