ADVOCATES of punishment for riggers look set to carry the day in the battle for free and fair elections.

The President said yesterday that an Electoral Offences Commission (EOC) would be set up to try electoral fraudsters.

Besides, a new chairman will be named "next Tuesday" for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Dr Goodluck Jonathan said.

He spoke at the Westminister Hotel in Nice, France, where he met members of the Nigerian community.
