WIFE of the Osun State governor, Mrs Sherifat Aregbesola, has emphasised the need for parents to stop using their children as means of making money, as it amounts to child trafficking.

She disclosed this while hosting Muslim children at the Government House  during a special Eid-el-kabir children party in the state capital.

She lamented the rate at which parents send their wards into slavery, using them as house helps.

"It is very important that parents should stop using their children as househelps, as this is against the law. It is an act of child trafficking and it is illegal," she stated.

According to her, parents should exploit the free education of the state government and send the children to school to guarantee a better future them.

She disclosed that refusing to send children to school  would be tantamount to working contrary to the law of the state, adding that the government would not hesitate to punish such parents.

Mrs Aregbesola said: "The best means by which parents could bestow an unending legacy that would continue to reverberate in the lives of their children is by sending them to school regularly.

She added that bringing children from different socio-economic backgrounds together would further endear unity and cooperation among them, saying such gathering would help them to develop mental alertness.
