Group Congratulates New Assistant Chief Of Staff

A political organisation, Campaign for Genuine Democracy (CGD), has congratulated the new Assistant Chief of Staff, Honourable Oguntola Togun, who was recently appointed by the Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola.

The group described the appointment of Togun as a well-deserved one and a call for service of the state.

In a congratulatory letter signed by the National Coordinator of CGD, Comrade Ade Adeolu and made available to OSUN DEFENDER, the group commended Aregbesola for giving Oguntola, uncommon opportunity to serve the state.

According to the group, the ability of Togun to perform is not in doubt, considering his past antecedents and his commitment to the popular course of the people, especially during the struggle of Governor Aregbesola to reclaim his mandates.

The letter read in part, "the CGD write to congratulate a dogged fighter, for the just course and advocate of democracy, Honourable Togun Oguntola on his new appointment as the Assistant Chief of Staff to the Governor."

"The appointment is well-deserved, considering his past antecedent as among the few, who placed honour and integrity above material considerations"

"We also commend our amiable governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, for recognising the heroic roles played by Togun during his election and three and half years' struggle to reclaim the popular mandate of the people."

"The appointment will definitely serve as a motivation to others that there is reward for good deeds and commitment to just course, regardless of the odds that might be confronted, while standing for the truth."

The group therefore called on Togun, to see his appointment as an opportunity to make history by serving the state diligently, considering the onerous challenges before the state, saying the people are expecting "real and genuine transformation".

"We are so confident that as a former lawmaker and grassroots mobiliser, he will deliver. Nevertheless, we are equally tasking him not to be carried away with the appointment and always remember the trust of the people in him." CGD said.
